The Pastor Search Committee (which is also the Advisory Board) met on Sunday, September 14 for a shorter meeting.
In this afternoon session, they worked through all of the nouns (qualities, what) and verbs (actions) they had defined for each core value in the specific context of WAPC. This work resulted in each core value having three nouns and three verbs associated with it. They appointed a subcommittee of 4 members to take these nouns and verbs and draft the description statements for each core value. The subcommittee will present their drafts at the next meeting on Saturday, October 4. It is expected that the core values and their description statements will be completed at this meeting. The committee will then begin working on a mission statement (what WAPC does uniquely in the body of Christ) as well as defining how WAPC achieves this mission.
Remember: While this work seems slow, it is essential to the process of properly presenting to prospective pastoral candidates who WAPC is and also to developing a pastoral profile of what WAPC is looking for in a pastor.
